Hello and welcome to Georgian Bay Nutrition!

My name is Allysa, and I am a Registered Dietitian located in the beautiful southern Georgian Bay area.

Having grown up in the Canadian prairies, and then lived among the rocky mountains on the west coast, I can confidently say that the Niagara Escarpment is the most stunning place I've ever called home.

Why did I become a Dietitian?

Well, in 2014, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. After graduation I intended to take some time off of school to work and travel. However, during this period, I developed some debilitating digestive issues that derailed all of my plans. I suffered from food induced flare-ups, abdominal pain, bloating and indigestion.

This left me fearful of food and distrustful of my own body.

Despite seeing numerous doctors and gastrointestinal specialists, none could pinpoint the cause of my symptoms. The most frustrating part was that not a single healthcare professional asked about my diet, nor did they refer me to speak with a Dietitian.

Determined to find answers, I leveraged my biochemistry background to educate myself about the food I was eating. I learned how to properly fuel and nourish my body, gained an understanding of the digestive process, and identified the specific foods triggering my symptoms.

And it worked.

It was then that I made it my mission to empower others to positively change their lives by harnessing the power of food and nutrition.

I pursued another Bachelor’s Degree in nutrition at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), and then completed a Master’s Degree of Applied Nutrition at the University of Guelph in order to qualify to write the Canadian Dietetic Registration Exam.

After graduating from my Master's program, my husband and I faced the heartbreaking loss of two pregnancies, followed by more than a year of infertility.

This journey through loss, and struggle to start our family ultimately led me to specialize in fertility nutrition. I applied everything I learnedβ€”both personally and professionallyβ€”on myself and my husband. I’m excited to share that we are now expecting our little one in June 2025!

Today, I use my expertise in fertility nutrition to help other couples optimize their diet, balance hormones, and improve both egg and sperm quality, supporting them on their own path to conception and growing their family.
